Hong Kong's Neon Signs

This article really interests me. When I lived in Taiwan, nearby Hong Kong was a weekend destination for me, and I recall how beautiful the lights were every time I went to visit my friends. It's unfortunate that things are changing so fast, however the point made about health and safety definitely resonates with me.

  1. Lucy, I found this article so interesting, thank you for sharing! As someone who hasn't yet been to Hong Kong, I always imagined it covered with the traditional neon lights, and while I get the danger of old signs posing a risk to the public, I am sad that HK is losing this aspect. Hopefully some will still be there when I finally get to go!

  2. Very interesting; I had no idea this was happening in Hong Kong.
    It reminded me of the exhibition I saw on MOV, where I learned that the same phenomenon occurred in Vancouver. They even recovered neon signs from the junkyard.
